As i brewery cart in which wag a draught aorse was passing, the horse caught sight of two circus elephants, and, unaccustomed to seeing such monsters on ihe road, took fright and reared. When it came down it landed on the bonnet jf the motor-car, much to the alarm of ihe occupants, who experienced an additional thrill when the elephants attered shrill shrieks and moved in the direction of the horse, their trunks in the ah'. The situation seemed likely to se complicated when the elephants' trainer promptly called the animals, which obeyed him at once. The Pomeranian turned a complete somersault from ;he caT.
