GOVERNMENT MONEYS STOLEN PROBATION FOR OFFENDERS [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Saturday. In the Supreme Court Arthur Gilbert Laurenson, lately acting-manager of the State Coal Depot, for the theft of Government moneys, was admitted to two years' probation, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. William Corliss was sentenced to one year's reformative treatment on a charge of receiving stolen money. George F. Williams, on two charges of indecent assault, was sentenced to four years' hard labour, and Alfred Bell, for indecent assault, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
