NOVEL BREACH OF PROMISE.
DIVORCED WIFE'S SUIT. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Feb. 23. The Chief Justice is dealing with a unique case, in which Sarah Bendix is suing Carl Bendix, stockbroker, of London, for breach of promise to remarry her. Bendix divorced his wife in 1920 on the ground of misconduct with his chauffeur. Counsel stated that Bendix afterwards again courted her and proposed marriage. He lived with her and told her she wouid get a surprise on her birthday. He telephoned her on that day, remarking, "This is my surprisewill you marry ine?" She consented, and the wedding was arranged,' but was postponed, and six days later Bendix married an actress.
