RUSSIA AT GENOA.

FRENCH OPPOSITION. A COMPROMISE REPORTED. A and N.Z. PARIS. Feb. 23. The Petit Parisien, referring to the conversations pending between M. Poincare and Mr. Lloyd George, says that agreements have already been reached on the following points: That, reparation provisions of the Versailles Treaty shall not be discussed at Genoa; that the League of Nations shall deal with all questions not dealt with by the Genoa Conference, which will be postponed for several weeks; that the participation of the Russian Soviet Government shall not lead to legal recognition by Prance, but that an economio agreement may be concluded with Russia in order to establish commercial relations.

The principal point of divergence between France and Britain was recognition of the Russian Soviet' Government. Britain desired immediate recognition, while France favoured conditional and postponed recognition.
