SHORTAGE OF MINISTERS.
NEEDS OF METHODIST CHUROH RECRUITS FROM THE OAMPS. A recommendation that the Methodist Conference should endeavour to secure moro men for the work of the ministry, which was submitted by the Rev. G. Frost, was unanimously adopted by the conference yeeterday. A special attempt should be made to lay the claims of the work of God before suitable young men so that they might feel the urgent call for service, said Mr. Frost. Many places were in need of workers, but the Church had no young men to send. Mr. E. Dickson, M.P. (Hawera), said every member of conference should work and pray for a general revival, and every minister m charge of a circuit should lay the claims of the Church before the young
men. The Rev. W. A. Sinclair urged the appointment of a committee to furnish a report that would enable the conference to reach a definite conclusion upon the natter.
Mr. C. Edmonds (Wellington) said sufficient efforts were not made to induce young men to join the Church. Then was splendid opportunity for secwinjr candidates from the Bible classes and Methodist camps. After further discussion the matter was referred' to. a special committee, which was also asked to consider the possibility of securing candidates 'from Australia or England.'
