N.S. WALES POLITICS.
MR. DOOLEY'S PROGRAMME.
HOSTILE PRESS COMMENT. A. nd N.Z. , SYDNEY. Fob. 18. Both the Sydney Morning Herald and tho Sydney Daily Telegraph comment adversely on Mr. Dooley's policy speech for side-stepping the actual financial and industrial position of the State, and ignoring the real issues to be faced. The two newspapers ddclaro that if Mr. Dooley's policy was carried into effect it would plunge the country into a deeper financial morass. The Sydney Morning Herald says that, judged by the truism that finance is Government, and Government is financo, Mr. Dooley's policy speech is not an account of the Government's stewardship, bnt a cynical affront to the intelligence of the electors. The Sydney Daily Telegraph says that Mr. Dooley's appeal is based on a succession of bribes, first to one section, then to another, and is quite inconsistent. The Sydney Daily Mail describes Mr. Dooley's effort as one of tho most spectacular seen for years. The only thing lacking is something in the way of an indication of how the policy is going to be given effect to. Everybody must doubt the abilitv of Mr Do()lcy or any ot,ier politician to carry it out.
