OUTRAGES IN THE SOUTH.
ARMY OFFICER SHOT DEAD. A. «nd N.Z. LONDON. Feb. 17. Two brothers, when returning from a coursing meeting at Limerick, were asked to pull up and supply another party with a tin of petrol. The brothers refured, whereupon a running fight ensued, extending three miles, wherein three persons were shot. Later three others were arrested by the Irish Republican police. Lieutenant Jellico, of the Royal Engineers, wag Bhot dead at Cork when visiting friends in mufti. Coastable McEdwards was shot dead in Limerick on Friday night.
KIDNAPPED ULSTERMEN. FORTY-TWO RELEASED. A. *nd N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 17. Mr. Austen Chamberlain, announced in the House of Commons that 42 of the kidnapped Ulstermen had been released.
