"SHORT ROAD TO SUICIDE."
GENERAL RUSSELL'S WARNING.
Anything in the naturo of political ' action would be extremely foolish/ said | Major-Genoral Sir A. H. Russell, presij dent of the N.Z.R.S.A., addressing a I meeting of the' returned soldiers at Christi church. In fact, for the association it < would bo a short road to suicide. At the same time, returned soldiors bad | learned valuable lessons at the war, and | those lessons would serve them now. ] Unity, efficiency, toleration, and care I for others should all bo planks in their I platform, whether they were Reformers, ; Liberals, or Labourites. Men living in towns had great advantages over those living in the country. Better acquaintance would come about if they all supported the association and put their hearts into the tasks before them.
