A SYDNEY EDITOR. Au«tralian and N.Z. Cable Association, (Becd. 9.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 14. Mr, VY. J. JefTery, managing-editor of the Evening News, died to-day. He collapsed when working in his office yesterday,

Mr. W. J. Jeffery was 61 years of age. He had been editor of the Evening News since 1906. A native of Plymouth, he settled in Sydney in 1886, aftor about ten years at sea. Ho was an authority on early naval history and was the author of several books on the subject.
