SUICIDE AT ELLERSLIE.

MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF, A tragic occurrence was reported to the Ellerslie police on Saturday evening. Pater Smith, aged 32, who had been residing at a boarding-house in the suburb named, was discovered lying dead in the bax-k-yard of the premises at about 9 p.m. Death had been caused by shooting, a gun being found near the deceased. An inquest was held in the city on Sunday morning before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., coroner, whose finding was 'that death was caused by a- self-inflicted gun-shot wound in the mouth.
