NUMBER .OF FINEB ( IMPOSED. Failure to attend drill resulted in* the appearance of a number of young men in the Magistrate's Court yesterday before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M. The usual varied excuses were offered for non-attendance. In a few cases the excuses were accepted, but in the great majority penalties were imposed. Frederick B. Hutchison was fined £2,and costs; Thomas H. Marshall and Stanley 0. Niven, £1 each,and costs; and George B. Lorimer, David J. Murrell, and Edison C. Russell, 10s each and costs; while' William R. Foster and Frederick J. Mounce were ordered to pay costs.
