POLICE COURT NEWS.

INDECENCY IN STREET. OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL. Fourteen days' imprisonment was the (sentence imposed on Rudolph Dredich Borgfeldt, aged 20, in the Police Court yesterday for having committed an indecent act in Wellesley Street on Tuesday evening. Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., was on the bench. Defendant had been fined £5 for a similar offenoe last ApriL The magistrate declined his appeal for a fine.

BREACHES' OF BY-LAWS. A long list of Jby-laW cases was dealt j with. Pauline Henderson (Mr.-.West) was charged with having driven a car in a negligent manner in Karangahape Road. Senior-Sergeant Rawle said that defendant turned her head to look into a flower shop, the result being that the car ran into the centre trampole. Defendant and her companion were injured and the car damaged. Counsel said he did not know about the flower shop. The accident was due to faulty brakes. Defendant had sustained a broken leg and three fractured ribs. In view of the circumstances defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs. For having driven a motor-cycle on the footpath on Marine Parade, Devonport, and in a manner dangerous to the public Herbert Thomas was fined £3, and fll 9s costs, A fine of £5, with 'costs £2 3s, was irapottd on Ivan Laycock, who had driven a motor-car in Dominion Road at a speed estimated at 40 miles ah hour. For dangerous driving in Karangahape fload and cutting the corner Frederick G. Lee was fined £1 10s with £1 10s costs. Bryant Weymouth was fined £3 for dangerous driving in Queen Street. A .number of other offenders were fined amounts up to £l for various breaches of the bylaws, PLUCKED FLOWERS W PARK, "He was Been pulling up plants and picking flowers at about 5.30 a.m., sOrhewhat under the influence, of liquor," said Senior-Sergeant Rawle, when Ernest Gordon Bryland (Mr. Singer) was charged with having plucked flower*: in Albert Park.
