COUP IN CAUCASUS.
SOVIET GUNS CONTROL. THREE STATES EXTINGUISHED ALLIANCE WITH TURKS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 4. The Constantinople correspondent of the Morning Post reports a Bolshevik coup abolishing by decree the independence of the three Caucasian republics of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia, and constituting them a Federal Union under Russian control, the political centre to be BaJcu, and the economic centre Till is. All the FederaJ Government institutions will be under the control of Russians. The Russian Soviet Government's object is to strengthen its hold on the threshold of the Orient. The Turkish Natiouali-'--have promised military support in the event of revolt. The Soviet Government has strengthened its armies in the Caucasus. Sone 80 Nationalists, who wore regarded as likely to oppose the coup, have been executed. It is not likely that further effective resistance will bo offered.
