POLICE RECIPROCITY.
AUSTRALIAN SUGGESTION. TO KEEP TRACK OF CRIMINALS. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Deo. 5. The Sydney Daily Telegraph, in a special article on wandering criminals, advocates reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand, with the object of acquainting the police authorities of each country when undesirables are paying a visit. It also recommends the interchange of detectives in the Australian and New Zealand capitals with a view to identifying the chief criminals. The article states that New Zealand has a habt of letting criminals out of the country, although heavy sentences aru recorded, for the Prisons Board there may revise a sentence and release the prisoner if he undertakes a sea voyage, which mostly terminates in Sydney. Tne local police are ignorant until the newcomer brings off a new "job." The New Zealand criminal is as good as any that are made, and quite a good stock is on hand.
