INCENDIARY FIRES.
OUTBREAKS AT WINTON. ONE DEATH RESULTS. [by telegrapn—press association.] INVEECAEGILL, Monday. Recently there has been a series of fires in the Winton district, evidently of incendiary origin. Two outbreaks in the " township within a week resulted 13 the destruction of much property aid the death of a woman from shock. Tho incendiary now seems to be devoting attention to farm buildings. On jrf. ; day a wool shed and cow byre at the '• Lady Barkly station were destroyed, the ' homestead being entered and coney stolen. On Saturday -night the homestead itself, a large two-storey building. destroyed. The police were on the premises at the time but the incendiary was not observed. Residents of the district are cooperating with the police, the roadg and bash being picketed.
