CHARGE AGAINST AIRMEN.
TRICK FLYING ALLEGED. TIMARU PROSECUTION. [BS TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TIMARU, Thursday. In tho Magistrate's Court to-day Maurice Buckley and Percival Fowler were charged with trick flying (namely, nose-diving) over Timaru, and flying at an altitude dangerous to tho public. Evidence for the prosecution was to tho effect that their machine was observed flying over Caroline Bay and nose-diving and over tho town 40ft. above the specified buildings. The defence was a complete denial, and evidence was called to show the impossibility of gauging the height and location of an aeroplane and what constituted a nose-dive. It was contended that the machine made abrupt turns when the defendants were endeavouring to see tho possibiliitcs of tho bay as a landing spot. Decision was reserved.
