FATAL COLLISION.

MOTOR DRIVER'S POSITION. COMMENTS BY CORONER. [bi telegraph.—rßEsa association.] BLENHEIM, Thursday.

At the inquest into the death of Rose Stafford, a Maori woman, 26 years of age, who died from injuries received in an accident on the Spring Creek road on September 24, the coroner found that the deceased died from injuries received in a collision between a trap driven by her and a motor-car driven by John Emlyn Thomas. The coroner said the evidence showed negligence on the part of Thomas, and there was also some evidence lhat Thomas was drunk while in chargo of the car, but as this was contradicted and was not conclusive, and in view of possible further proceedings, ho would make no further comment.
