STOCKS AND SHAKES.
There was little change yesterday in the tone of the Auckland sliaremarket In Government stocks War Loans, 1930, sold at £90, with late buyers at £89 10s. There were inquiries for 1938 Loan at £85 10s, sellers £86 ss. Soldiers' Loan (bonds) wero wanted at £92 ss, sellers £S2 10s. In banks Nationals were inquired for at £5 14s, sellers £5 15s. New Zealands were quoted at 49s 3d, buyers 48s 9d. Union of Australia (new issue, !£2 5s paid) sold at £4 7s 6d. In insurI anccs there wero buyers of Nationals at 1595, sellers 60s. New Zealands were I sought at 28s 3d, sellers 28s 6d. ,Tn shipping P. and 0. (deferred ■ stock) wero quoted at £305, buyers £270. Union Steam (preference) were jin demand at 18s 3d, with no re- ! i>ponse from sellers. In gas Aucklands (paid up) sold at 245, and (contributing) at 325. In mining Grand Junctions changed hands at 8s 6d. Waihis were quoted at 21s 9d, buyers 21s.
