STOCKS AND SHARES.
The tone of the Auckland Bharemarket was good yesterday. In QoTernment stocks the only sellers were holders of Soldiers' Loan, bonds and inscribed stock, both of which were offered at £91 17s 6d, with buyers at £91 15s. New Zealand War Loans and inscribed stock, 1938, were looked for at £85. In banks New Zealands sold at 51s, more being wanted at 508 6d, sellers 51s 9d. Australasias (ex div.) had buyers at £85, sellers asking £89. Nat,iouaJa were sought at £5 lis, and New South Wales at £35 ss. In insurances Nationals changed hands at 60s, with further demand at that price, sellers 60s 6d. Standards sold at 51s. For New Zealands 28s 6d was offered, sellers 295. South British had sellers at 365, buyers 35s 9d. In coals Westports were done at 28s, and in gas Aucklands (con.) at 275. In miscellaneous lines Wilsons Cements had sale at 15s. In mining Waihi Grand Junctions, changed hands at 8s 6d and 8s Bd. Waihis at 22s 3d had buyers at 21s 6d.
The following sales took place: Bank of New Zealand, 51s; National Insurance, 60s; Standard, 51s; Westport Coat, 28s; Auckland Gas (con.), 275; Wilsons Cement, 15s; Waihl Grand Junction 8s 6d, 8s Bd.
