LAND AGENTS' ASSOCIATION.
THE ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Auckland Land and Estate Agents 'and Land Auctioneers' Association to he presented at the annual meeting this evening, states that on the whole the past year has been a good one. Although the recent financial stringency and post-war legislation has had the effect of minimising speculation, there is still plenty of scope for business in sound real estate propositions. Recent statistics also show that in development the Auckland Province leads the rest of New Zealand, and, states the report, there is no doubt that development will continue provided due recognition is given to the requirements of the province m the way of roads and railways. " Now that tlie association is firmly established," it continues, "it is a,"question whether we should not, as a body, take a more active part in the development of the Dominion generally, and Auckland Province in particular, by giving some attention to such questions as * immigration, afforestation, roads and railways." The association has had a very considerable increase in membership during the past year, the report proceeds. The roll number has increased in that time from 171 to 198, while it was only 99 for the year 1917-18 and 114 for the following year. During the past year at an extraordinary meeting, the association scale of charges was altered by increasing the rate of commission from 2i- per cent. on the first £100 to 2£ per cent, on the first £200, thus coming into line with the Dominion scale. The balance-sheet shows the income e for the year to have l*en £1904, and the expenditure £405, leavng a balance of £689. to be transferred to the accumulated funds whicfi now amount to £2040. ' '
