ESTRANGEMENT OF BRITAIN.
INTRIGUES WITH SOVIET. A. and N.Z. LONDON. July 26. In the House of Lords, Lord Curzon said that the Russian Soviet Minister at Teheran had carried on propaganda, backed by financial promises. The, Persian Government had deliberately rejected the chance of recovering its fortunes with Britain's aid, and had fallen back on the familiar game of playing off one foreign country against another. As an old friend of Persia, he warned her that she, not Britain, would suffer. •,
