TREE PLANTING.

COUNTY COUNCIL'S WORK. An area of tan acres belonging to tha Hawke's Bay County Council has been set aside in the Okawa riding for tree planting purposes. It is proposed to grow trees there in order to provide the timber required by the council for bridge building and also young trees for planting on hill sides in order to prevent cuttings slipping across roads. The planting is being done by one of the permanent employees of the council.
