TAURANGA FRUITGROWERS.
FORMATION OF ASSOCIATION. [BT TELEGRAPH. OWN COaBESPOXDENT.] TAURANGA. Wednesday. At a largely-attended meeting of citrus and other fruitgrowers held here yesterday it was unanimously decided to establish a Citrus and Fruitgrowers' Association. Lieutenant-Colonel E. Mayfield, and [Messrs. J7 S. Thompson, BL P. Bryan, A. Siadden, A. Holingworth, T. H. Parkinson, N. Chater, H. T. Pattie, and R. Johnston were appointed a committee to formulate definite proposals for promoting the interests of the newlyformed association, and to report to anj other of members. • Mr. J. N. Davidson, manager of the Government horticultural station, read a paper on citrus diseases, and was accorded a; vote of thanks. Sabseqnently the- committee met and discussed the*question of the marketing of lemons throughout the Dominion. It was decided to communicate with various fruitgrowers' associations asking for information calculated to be o? benefit to local fruitgrowers in disposing,, of and marketing their fruit. • "■— -
