Tuesday. , A young man named Noel Asbton w,u charged in the Supreme Court to-day with » breaking the window of a bedroom m • which two girls were sleeping and drag- . ging the blankets from one of theni, and . on a second coxmt with assaulting t!>o [ girls' mother when she was returning to the house after calling a neighbour. He : was found not guilty of the first charge , and guilty of the second. Sentence »Ls , deferred. The defence was that soma other person was guilty of the first offence, I and the accused was too drunk to know what be was doing when he assaulted the mother.
