ONEHUNGA.
The Onehunga Borough Council met last evening. There .were present: The Mayor, Mr. J. Park, and Messrs. W. N. Mcintosh, A. McColl. J. Macklow, E. Morton. R. Ainsworth, J. E. Cowell, P. R. Lipscombe, T. R. Gilbert, and A: McLcod. The council agreed to take over the Onehunga brase band a* a municipal band, to bo managed by a committee consisting of three members of the council, three privato citizens, and three bandsmen. The Stratford Hospital Board asked for the council's support to an effort to effect a change from the present system of apportioning subsidies in favour of a return to the simple and universal £ for £. This plan is accepted as satisfactopr i n the matter of capital levies. A provision might be made that in certain districts with special disabilities grants in aid of ordinary revenue would bo available in addition to ordinary subsidies. The matter was referred to committee. N
