FAREWELL TO MR. MASSEY.
"AT HOIVJE" TO BE TENDERED.
MAYOR ARRANGES FUNCTION. A Mayoral reception to the Prime Minister and Mrs. Massey, on the eve of their departure for Britain, is to be held on Friday evening. The Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson, stated yesterday that ho had telegraphed to Mr. Massey, asking him if such a gathering would meet with his approval, and suggesting that it be arranged for Friday evening. Mr. Massey replied last evening acceding to .the Mavor's suggestion. The function will accordingly take the form of a farewell "at home, tendered by the Mayor and Mayoress on behalf of the citizens of Auckland. Tho Auckland Presbytery last evening passed a resolution, on the motion of the Rev. W. McDonald, congratulating the Prime Minister, tho Eight Hon. W. F. Massey, upon hafing been invited to attend a conference in London to discuss questions of vital importance to the Empire, and wishing him a safe journey and a successful mission.
