The reef improves with depth. Picked atone from this part of the mine shows verv good valttes. A good tonnage is being opened out ready for the battery. Thelow Tevei tunnel has been advanced 9ft. The ground is naru. St. Hippp.—The drive north-east on the St Hippo reef h*e been, extended 12ft T><» country is etill of ,-m excellent rlaas or andesite. A break a few feet from the face has caused a disturbance in the reef but it is making again, in the present face.
