PICKED STONE AT BEEFTOM.
i Kuranui.—A _ further sft. lias been driven en the reef, making a total of 3S3ft. from the main tunnel. Tiers, is not quit* so much, quartz showing in the face of the drive, the main portion being; about 6in. wide-. The country is improving: in appearance and is carrying some nice mineral veins. Reef ton Mines.--In the Millertoa section. Ao. 2 north, end, the reef is 16in. mUe and showing goldu This ground is richer than that worked during the last 200h. lNo : 3 level,.north, enc, the reef is lain, -wide This level is 126 ft. iower down than no. 3 level. The reef improves with depth. Picked atone from this part of the mine shows verv good valttes. A good tonnage is being opened out ready for the battery. Thelow Tevei tunnel has been advanced 9ft. The ground is naru. St. Hippp.—The drive north-east on the St Hippo reef h*e been, extended 12ft T><» country is etill of ,-m excellent rlaas or andesite. A break a few feet from the face has caused a disturbance in the reef but it is making again, in the present face.
