TAUNTON BY-ELECTION.
NEW MINISTER RETURNED. Australian and N-Z. Cable Association. (Eeod. 6*30 p.m.) LONDON, April 9. The by-election at Taunton resulted in the return of the Coalition-Unionist candidate, Sir Arthur Griffith-Boscawen, the voting being as follows : — Sir A. GriffitE-Boscawen ». 12,994 Lunnon (Labour) . . .. 8,290 The by-election resulted through the sitting member, Lieut.-Gol. D. F. Boles, resigning in favour of Sir Arthur GrifnthBoscawen, who was unseated at the byelection in his former constituency, Dudley, necessitated by his acceptance of Cabinet rank as Minister for Agriculture. At the general election in December. 11918, the Taunton polling was: — I Lt.-Col. D. F. Boles (Coal.Umomst) 12,619 Rev. G. S. Woods (Labour) . . 4,816
