DELHI, April 10. , The result of the census gives the popu- ■ lation of all India as 319,000,000, an increase of 4,000,000 on the last census taken in 1911. The increase was dimin- j ished by the 1919 outbreak of influenza, which destroyed 7,000,000, and also by; sporadic outbreaks of plague and cholera.
