ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
FAREWELL TO MR. C. J. TUNES. A large number of members of St. John Ambulance Association assembled at the association's lecture hall, Rutland Street, on Saturday evening, to bid farewell to Mr. C. J. Tunks, chairmaD of the Association, who is leavjng shortly on an extended tour of England and America. The Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson, presided, and referred to the valuable work Mr Tunks ha 4 rendered during the 28 years he had been connected with the Order *of John. The present flourishing condition of the association in Auckland was due to a large extent to the wise and judicious administration of Mr. Tunks. Dr. P. A. Lindsay, on behalf of the medical profession, Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, on behalf of the brigade, and Mr. W. Rattray, hon. secretary of the association,"- also paid tributes to ti.e of Mr. Tanks. Mr. Tunks suitably responded. A " most entertaining musical programme was provided and »efreshme^ ts were subsequently served by the ladies oi the nursing divisions.
