TRAM CONCESSION TICKETS.

V OBJECTION TO REGULATIONS. I The question of reconsidering the regulations governing concession tickets on the city tramways was discussed by the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening, when a communication* was received from the acting-town clerk, Mr. J. J. Walklate, intimating that the Mayor would be pleased to fulfil his promise to reconsider the form of ticket, should he be called upon to do so. The chairman, Mr. H. B. Debbie, said the rule preventing a ticket being clipped more than once on each trip was very unsatisfactory, as --was that prohibiting "shouting." He expressed the view that no system would be satisfactory which did not provide for the taking of tickets as the passengers entered the car. Mr. R. G. Clark said he did not think any objection could be made against the anti-shouting provision. If eight persons entered a car and one of them had his ticket clipped eight times to pay for them all it would be a difficult matter for an inspector to check the fares. Several members quoted instances in which the regulations had not been strictly observed, the chairman remarking that he had more than once continued his journey a iurther section and had met with no objection on presenting his ticket to be clipped again. On the chairman's motion it was agreed to reply to Mr. Walklate's letter requesting that the Mayor be asked to convene a meeting to discuss the matter. The Mount Roskill Road Board having received a similar communication from the town clerk, expressed approval of the present system, and agreed that it had no desire that the subject be reviewed.
