GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSALS.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Otecd. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 15. The Daily Chronicle states that owing to the continuance of the trade slump the Government has drafted a Bill to extend for a further 15 weeks the unemployment insurance benefits, which at present are limited to 15 weeks, as many thousands of unemployed will soon cease to be entitled to the existing benefits. It also proposes that the weekly benefit shall be 20s instead of 15s 6d.
