ROBBERY FROM A CLUB.

THIEF SECURES OVER £5.

A robbery occurred at the Workingmen's Club, Kitchener Street, some time during Tuesday night. When one of the stewards of the institution arrived at the premises at 6.30 a.m. yesterday he discovered thai an intruder had been present. A' ladder had been moved from its accustomed position in the main hall, and in the bar was evidence that a candle had been left to burn itself out on a low shelf. The board beneath where it had rested was charred. A sum of just over £5 was missing from the tills in the bar. Apparently the thief made his exit by a window. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police.
