NORTHCOTE WAR MEMORIAL.

Sir, —The noble deeds which have in -! spired the proposed memorial are of too sacred a nature to allow of wordy discussion. In voicing the opinion, which is largely shared, that a mistake had been made in the choice of a site, it was more with a view that deeper significance to the rnemoriel might be given. The Domain j Re&erve is a wonderful point of vantage, and a very large number of residents stili j consider this is where the memorial should ! he placed, so as to be viewed by thousands j instead of comparatively few. As no ' design has yet bten prepared and collectors are only now starting on their unselfish task it is thought that if a mistake has been made it is not too late to rectify it. __ , . Horace H. Hunt. Woodside Avenue, Northcote.
