Tillyard, biologist to the Cawthron Institute, Nelson, who returned by the Niagara on Monday, leave for Wellington by the mid-day 'Main Trunk express to-day. Mr. J. H. Kinnear tendered his resignation as a vice-president, and Mr. G. M. White as a member of the committee of the Auckland Automobile Association at its meeting last evening. Both resignations were accepted with regret. ■Dr. S. T. Nevill, formerly Anglican .Bishop of Dunedin, who hs* been for many years a member of the Roval -Colonial Institute, has been elected an honorary fellow in recognition of his past interest in the activities of the institute. Mr. Albert B. Taylor, of Auckland, has been appointed temporarily to the positionof lecturer in English at Leeds University Mr. Taylor, who enlisted in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Seventh Reinforcements, has been studying at Merton College, Oxfori, for the last two years, and passed with first-class honours at the recent examination.
