Ipesh onslaughts by the Bolsheviks on Poland as a result of their success in Crimea are considered not unlikely. Their action in carrying off men and " women hostages from the evacuated territory and forcing Polish prisoners of war to enter the Soviet Army are regarded as significant. ° A. and N.Z. LONDON. Nov. 17. Reports from Reval state that General Pilsudski, the Polish commander, conferred with General Petlura, head of the Ukrainian forces, and reached important decisions regarding operations against the Soviet. The Soviet newspapers, however, claim that three of General Petlura's divisions have been annihilated. It is also reported from Warsaw that Genera] Petlura's Ukrainian army has had a serious set-hack, and is retreating to the Dunojowo-Ehkowca line.
