STRIKES ON CONTINENT.
BERLIN IN DARKNESS. ELECTRICIANS' SURPRISE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) BERLIN. Nov. 7. A lightning strike of electricians deprived the citv of practically the whole of its electric light, and stopped the tramway service. It is reported that the strikers will provide current for public purposes, fearing the intervention of the citizens' emergency organisation, which is always ready for such cases. AUSTRIAN RAILWAYMEN. VIENNA ISOLATED. A. and N.Z. VIENNA, Nov. 7. Railwaymen in Southern Austria have struck for higher wages, and the workers have struck in sympathy. The suspension of the traffic threatens the city's food supplies.
