A War Office communique on the operations in Mesopotamia states that a column proceeding from Ur to relieve Sa!mawa, 150 miles south-east of Bagdad, advanced without opposition to the railhead of the Ur-Samawa jail way. and is iiut.- within 36 miles of ijamawa. '
