MARKET SUPPLIES."^ Authority has Been received by the dairy companies to supply the local market with new season's butter, the price allowed to'li be charged in the meantime being 2s 7Jd-5 wholesale. This . means that consumers '; will have to pay 2s lOd a pound, which W; is on a parity with the export value of "5 the season's output. The temporary ax- i rangement has been,made in view oi the "S fact that the stocks of last season's butter '■< are- practically exhausted, 'and no an- * nouncement has yet been made by the Government regarding the fixing of the price at which butter may be sold locallyfor the season. A decision on this point , is expected to be reached within the next day or two.
