NORTHERN RACING CLUB. The fifth race of th« old bird vsries trader the auspices of the Northern Racing Pigeon Club was decided on Saturday from Te Aw mutu, an airline distance of approximately 82 miles. The birds were released at. three o'clock in good flying conditions. Hr. V. Ryder's Sky Pilot HI. coTered th» distance in th© good time of 2H. 6m. 305., an average velocity of 1209 yds. a minute. The following are the velocities of the leadins birds:—Mr. V. Ryder's r.c. c. Sky Pilot 111.. 1209 yds a mwt.te, 1, Mr. V. Ryder's b.c. b. Curiosity, 1207yd5,,. 2; Mr. W. Sargent's r.c. c. Cloudy Dawn, 1262yd5., 3; Messrs. Watson Bros', blk. h. Desdessona. 1201 yds., 4; Mr. H. DagrtfJPs b.c. c. Blue Plume, 1500 yds.. 5; Mr. H. ©agnail's r.c. c. Ginger Mick. 119Syds.. 6; Mr. A. Morton's p. h. Whizz Bang. 1194yd5., 7; Mr. A. Morton's p. h. Gee Whizz, 1187 yds., 8; Mr. W. Sargent's blk. h. Swift Plight, 1166 yds. 9; Mr. R. Hunter's b. c. Avalon, 1147yd5., 10. The next race will be from Palraerston nejt Saturday.
