THAMES IMPROVEMENTS.
PROPOSED LOAN OF £64,000.

At last night's meeting of the Thame* Borough Council details of tho proposed expenditure of the streets loan of £64.000 were adopted, and 1 , it was decided to take a poll of ratepayers on the proposal on the same day as the poll in connection with tho sanitary sewerage scheme. The details provide for the expenditure of £19,809 on improvement works in Block 27, £5300 on kerbing, channelling, metalling, and drainage works at Parawai. £23,619 for bituminous road-paving and necessary plant, £2385 for an 18ft strip of concrete in Pollen Street, £2341 for concrete channelling extension at Koraka Creek and rehiring, £800 for concrete wall and stops at .Rolleston Street Terrace, and other drainage works in town streets, £1550 for improvements to the Governor Bowen site and acquisition of Peitman'fl property, Berry's property, Pacific- Hotel site, Rocky Point quarry, and freehold lands in Upper Pollen £250 for Tararu kerbing and channelling, and footpath, £2500 for borough proportion of cost of Kauaeranga Bridge, £2000 for town beutifying, £2500 for engineer's reports and general charges.
