Tufnell, only son of the late Dr. Tufnell, who was Bishop of Brisbane, was attacked and killed by a native while travelling in a train from Calcutta to Lucknow. No arrest has been made.' Colonel A. W. Tufnell served in the European war as a General Staff Officer and Drigado commander. _ He was thrice wounded. He had previously seen active service on the north-west frontier of India and.in the South African war, and was,at the relief of Ladyfmith.
