MURDERED IN INDIA.
BRITISH ARMY OFFICER. CRIME COMMITTED IN TRAIN. Austrtliin and N.Z. Ctble Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 17. Colonel A. W. Tufnell, only son of the late Dr. Tufnell, who was Bishop of Brisbane, was attacked and killed by a native while travelling in a train from Calcutta to Lucknow. No arrest has been made.' Colonel A. W. Tufnell served in the European war as a General Staff Officer and Drigado commander. _ He was thrice wounded. He had previously seen active service on the north-west frontier of India and.in the South African war, and was,at the relief of Ladyfmith.
