EASTERN AIR TRAIL.

ITALIAN REACHES PEKING. I A TWO MONTHS' FLIGHT. (Received 7.30 p.m.) Reutor. PEKING, May 17. The Italian airman, Lieutenant Ferrari, has arrived at Peking on his flight from Rome to Tokio. , LieuteoJint Ferrari's flight, though much slower, deserves to be ranked with Sir Ross Smith's journey fronl England to Australia, and Lieutenant-Colonel van Rynveldt'g flight to the Cape. Ferrari, whose route to Bangkok was practically the same as that followed by Sir Rosa Smith, has now covered between 8500 and 9000 miles since he left Rome on February 16. From Bangkok he headed his machine north, and . successfully passed Ha-noi, Canton, chow, and Shanghai. He is now only a few flights from his goal. From Peking he will probably ctosj i the Ye'low Sea to Seoul, Korea, whenct . he will probably fly direct to Tokio. When Forrari reached Canton, Lieuten ant Massimo, another Italian, was only one stage behind him.
