TRIBES TAKE TO THE HILLS. By Telegraph—Proas Association—CoDTtifiliL . (Received 12.30 a.m.) Eeutof. BOMBAY. Dec. 18. The British column operating in the Derajat territory" of Waziristan against the Mahsuds reached Jandola yesterday amidst desultory firing from Mahsuds in the hills to the north.
FRUITLESS ARMISTICE.
BRITISH TERMS REJECTED. A. and N.Z. ALLAHABAD. Dec. 17. Hostilities were suspended for two days on the frontier owing to the Mahsuds having expressed a desire for peace. They were given until Tuesday to agree to the terms, but only one body of tribesmen, representing an unimportant section, arrived. It was decided that punitive operations should proceed forthwith, and the 67th Brigade moves from Khirgi to Jandola to-day. Wana was again bombed by aeroplanes on Tueuclay.
