PRINZ HUBERTUS FIRE.
VESSEL ABANDONED. TOTAL DAMAGE, £150,000. LONDON, Oct, 22. The Prinz Hubertus is still burning fiercely, and has now settled down uii-the mud, turning over on her side. Veteran firemen say that they have never, seen anything like 'the Prinz Hubertus. Flames are spurting from many parts of the vessel, whose sides are red-hot, a&d water poured aboard merely turns into steam. The ship has been surrounded by fireships and engines, and relief crows of firemen worked for 24 hours. The ship, which carries 14,600 tons of wheat, copra, and cottonseed, has now been abandoned, as she is expected to Ifcurrt turtle at iny moment. The Prinz Hubertus has been practically destroyed, the eg oris throughout the day of 200 firemen, and dock-hands having failed to master toe flanfes- The damage to the ship and the loss of the cargo are estimated at £150,000.
