GIRL CLERK'S FRAUDS.

OVER £10,000 EMBEZZLED. BRIEF CAREER OF OPULENCE. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Doc. 3. A curious story of extravagance was told at the Manchester Assizes. Mary Brady, the young cashier of a shipping firm, was charged with defrauding her employers of £23,000, of which £8400 was recovered. She lived a brief career like a millionairess, wearing expensive furs, entertaining troops of friends, and gambling heavily. Her personal display aroused suspicions, and led to detection, and Brady admitted defrauding her employers of £10,000. She was sentenced to a year's imprisonment.
