O'Donnell, parish priest of Ashbnrton, has been appointed VicarGeneral of the Eoman Catholic Diocesa of ChristchurcM Mr. W. J. T. Wiggs, chief clerk in tha Auckland office of the Public Works Department, left by the Maheno on Thursday on a visit to Australia. Mr. M. J. McWilliams has been appointed instructor in electrical engineering and applied mechanics at the Wellington Technical College. Mr. S. G. Raymond, K.C., of Christchurch, who will leave New Zealand soon, has resigned his seat on the Board of Governors of Canterbury College. Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., returned to Auckland yesterday from New Ply. mouth, where he has been spend : ng big vacation. He will resume his magisterial duties next Tuesday. Lieutenant-Colonel A. R. Pillon-Carb»>ry C.8.E., N.Z.M.C., of Stratford, returned by the Arawa after an absence of gome five years. During the past sis months he has been engaged in London on the compilation of the New Zealnnd merlin! Irstory of the war for the New Zealand Government.
