CONCRETE ROADS WANTED.

WAIPA COUNTY SCHEME. [by TELEGRAPHOWN' correspondent.] HAMILTON", Thursday. A scheme for laying down all the main arterial roads in the Waipa County in concrete was discussed at the annual, meeting of the Waipa County Council, when a report, prepared by a special committee, was submitted. The total cost of the scheme was estimated at approximately £170,000, and it war suggested that an undertaking costing £80.000 should be entered into. The chairman, Mr. R. Fisher, moved th adoption of the proposals. Several members were of opinion that the resolution was too comprehensive and that before the scheme was adopted a schedule of the works should be prepared After considerable discussion the chairman withdrew his motion, and Mr. Macky moved, " That before the proposal is adopted a schedule of the works proposed to be undertaken be submitted to the council." This was carried.
