SYDNEY FERRY CHARGES.
STATE CONTROL RECOMMENDED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Becd. 12.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 21. The report of the commission which inquired into the ferry charges urges that the ferries should be placed under State control. The annual conference of the 'CountryPress has opened. A proposal has been submitted to enable country proprietors to join the metropolitan papers in the co-operative purchase of paper and printing materials, thus effecting a. great saving. QUEENSLAND LABOUR PARTY. MR. RYAN'S SUCCESSOR, (Reed. 12 a.m.) BRISBANE, Oct. 21. Mr. T. J. Ryan, Premier of Queensland, who is entering Federal politics, has resigned the leadership of the Queensland Parliamentary Labour Party. Mr. L. G. Theodore, the State Treasurer, succeeds him.
