RIFLE-SHOOTING.
CITY CLUB TROPHIES.
The City Rifle Club fired for trophies presented by Stewart Dawson and Co.. Ltd., and Mr. J. A. Spry. The weather conditions were good, but the shooting was poor owing to the rifle barrels, being worn. A. G. Devore won the Stewart Dawson trophy and J. B. Torbet secured Mr. Spry's prize. The Akarana Defence Rifle Club held a competition at the Penrose Range on Saturday afternoon for trophies presented bv Mr. W. Thome for A class. Mr. F. W. Strong for B class and Mr. 'J. B. Torbet for C class. Rifleman A. G. Devore won outright in the A class. Rifleman J. B. Torbet secured a win in the B class, taking an ammunition trophy. L.
